“Outta this world”
The fourth in a series of city experiences, we thought we would up the ante by making this one our biggest yet – bringing 42 people along and throwing a solar eclipse experience into the mix.
We spent the first two full days on an action-packed adventure touring around Austin in our fancy party bus hitting all the hottest spots.
Highlights:
- Walking into the Broken Spoke dressed in our Outta this world attire and learning how to Texas Two Step with Terri White
- Dressed in bright-colour-power-clash, we gently sauntered into the crooked and aged Sahara Lounge to spend a hip-hop night with Body Rock. The dance floor was already popping when we joined in but Provibers still got a shout out for providing the vibe that night! The diversity and love in that space was nothing like we’d ever experienced before.
- Spending the afternoon at the infamous and incredible Cathedral of Junk blew us all away. This man has spent his life collecting junk and working it into an unfathomable work of art on his property.
We eventually transitioned ourselves into a mansion on the hills in Marble Falls where we were all able to settle in and down and launch our own party in honour of one of the greatest celestial experiences: the total solar eclipse. We spent the morning grounding ourselves in a beautiful sound bath meditation then watched the eclipse together. People laughed, cried, got engaged… then we launched into our dance well into the night.
On the last day, we completed our closing circle only to become the centre of a baseball-sized hailstorm that smashed in skylights and wrote off our vehicles. It was a heck of a way to end such a profound week.
This experience brought together a Proviber community of new and old friends. It was curated impeccably and participants showed up in ways that were congruent with the effort it took them to get there. In the 18 months of planning, we never doubted what the effort would yield. We are once again more closely tied than we were before, new bonds were formed and memories of love and connection will forever be etched in our minds.
